⚽7 year fall of Leicester

Today we have a 4 Game Smorgasbord 📨Matchweek 35/38

Good Morning,
The Premier League has a little bit for everyone today. Oddly enough one of the more interesting games is between the two worst teams in the league. Southampton and Leicester will go at it with the Saints only needing a point to escape the worst point total ever in the league. If that isn’t exciting, then I don’t know what is.

🔥 Headline Match: Aston Villa vs. Fulham

🏟️ Villa Park | 🕛 8:30 PM BST / 12:30 PM PT

🦁 Villa: April Showers (tears)
April was a rollercoaster for Villa. Big Premier League wins over Forest and Newcastle, plus a heroic victory over PSG, kept hope alive. But painful exits from the Champions League (to PSG), the FA Cup (to Palace), and a last-second loss to City have left them in 7th. With a top-five finish still possible, they’ll need near perfection from here on out, and a little help from their equally unpredictable rivals, Fulham, who look equal parts dangerous and vulnerable.

🎯 Watch For: Ollie Watkins (per usual), 15 goals and 7 assists to his name, he’s had 78 shots this season and 15 goals (Scoring 19% is not bad) He leads the league in big chances missed with (24), followed by Salah (21) and Haaland (20) seems like he’s in decent company.

⚖️ Fulham: Party Crashers
The Cottagers aren’t here to make friends. Fulham have been quietly efficient in the second half of the season and are now just six points off Villa with four matches to go. With the CL pretty much out of reach, a Europa League finish is attainable with a strong finish.

⚔️ Head to Head: Villa has the slight edge with 10 wins to Fulhams 9. The tie has only ever had 4 draws.

Fixtures

Everton vs. Ipswich
Everton are like the hyperactive kid at the playground running to every slide and swing. Sometimes they fall on their face, sometimes they surf down the slide standing up and 360 off. Either way, they’re having a blast. Now safe from relegation, they take on already-relegated Ipswich Town at Goodison Park. Ipswich are dealing with a staggering 11 players out (we actually lost count the first time and had to start over). At this rate, they might have to field actual farmers.

Leicester vs. Southampton
Dubbed "El Crapico," by some very rude people, this match pits two defeated sides against each other. Leicester hasn't scored at home in five months, and Southampton has failed to keep a clean sheet in 17 consecutive league games. It’s the perfect matchup.

Arsenal vs. Bournemouth
Arsenal, reeling from a midweek Champions League loss to PSG, returns to Premier League action against Bournemouth. The Gunners must refocus to keep the Mancunians from grabbing ahold of their heels. Bournemouth, sit smack dab in the middle of the table, and have rough next three games which may keep them there.

Extra Slice

📉 Fall of the Foxes

I need to stop writing Leicester themed posts…but today is not that day. Leicester City’s relegation had felt inevitable for weeks, but confirmation came with a 1–0 loss to Liverpool. For fans, it marked not just the end of a season, but possibly the final chapter of an incredible era. From winning the Premier League in 2016 to back-to-back relegations, the club is now grappling with questions that go far beyond what happens on the pitch.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future hangs in the balance after winning just two of 21 league matches. Some want a fresh start, others believe stability matters more. Behind the scenes, fans are even more concerned. Director of football Jon Rudkin and CEO Susan Whelan are under fire for poor recruitment and spiraling wage issues.

This isn't just a football crisis, it’s an identity one. The club’s once-celebrated structure now feels out of touch. Fans are divided between nostalgia for the glory years and frustration at how far things have fallen. The next few weeks could shape Leicester’s future for years to come. Whether it’s a full rebuild or a patch job, something needs to change.
