📨Matchweek 35/38

Good Morning,
One game today as Wolves head to Manchester (City) for what looks to be an exciting matchup. In today’s Report, we’ll watch two of the most in-form teams in the Prem going head to head and also zoom in on the very unique Wolves coach Vítor Pereira. Check out his interview video below — it’s both inspiring andddd kind of sad. But I’ll hold back the spoilers.
Enjoy the game today!

🔥 Headline Match: Manchester City vs. Wolves
🏟️ Etihad Stadium | 🕗 5:30 PM BST / 9:30 AM PT
🔵 City No Room for Error
Now that Liverpool has popped open the champagne, City’s remaining games are about positioning and finishing in the top 5. They currently sit fourth and were given a huge boost with Forest’s loss yesterday. With the FA Cup final coming up and the season 23 days from being over, City holds their destiny in their own hands. Will they finish on a high note?
🐺 Wolves: Feeling Hot Hot Hot
Wolves have nothing to lose and are playing like it. If you look at their recent results, it’s all green W’s. They have multiple players in form like Matheus Cunha with with 15 goals, and Ait-Nouri (LM) and Jorgen Strand Larsen (ST) are nominated for Premier League Player of the Month. Wolves lost to City back in October, 1-2 ….the revenge dish is definitely cold enough at this point.
📊 By the Numbers:
City are unbeaten at home in 27 straight PL matches.
Wolves have won 6 straight games and are hungry for more W’s.
Extra Slice
🍺 “First the Points, then the Pints”
Wolves fans are buzzing over the Vítor Pereira revolution and for good reason. Since taking over in December, the Portuguese manager has turned the club from 19th-place relegation shoo-ins, to one of the most in-form sides in Europe. His signings (shoutout Emmanuel Agbadou) have been rock solid, but it’s Pereira’s intensity, detail, and pub-loving charm that’s got Molineux singing again. His catchphrase, “First the points, then the pints”, has basically become an instant classic in Wolverhampton.

But this isn’t Pereira’s first rodeo. It’s more like his 11th. Since 2013, the Portuguese tactician has held ten different head coaching jobs in eight countries. That includes stints at Fenerbahçe (twice), Olympiacos (where he won the double), Shanghai SIPG (where he won the league), Flamengo, Corinthians, Al Ahli, and 1860 Munich. The man’s got more stamps in his coaching passport than Jose Mourinho.
He could’ve come to England earlier (Everton courted him three times), but in the end he made the decision to give Wolves a chance (or vis versa). The decision is paying off and now he's winning games and downing celebratory pints with supporters while delivering 10-minute tactical monologues at the local. For a club that desperately needed a reset, Pereira’s mix of elite-level know-how, and local-level charm, is proving to be just the right combo.
He may still be in his senior year at the school of hard knocks, joining a team in rough shape like the Wolves, but it’s looking like he’s about ready to graduate. Good luck today, Vítor.
