Matches

💬Final Matchday Notes:

(THE BIG ONE) Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea
Chelsea’s entire season comes down to their final league match; If they win, they return to the Champions League, but draw or lose, and they open the door for Villa + Forest to overtake them.

Nuno has worked wonders with Forest, but a final-day win over Chelsea could complete the miracle and secure a CL spot.

Bournemouth vs Leicester
Bournemouth missed out on Europe, but a win over Leicester could equal a club-best ninth-place finish if Brentford and Fulham don’t get results.

Fulham vs Manchester City
City need to secure their place in the CL and KDB’s final game for City will cap a legendary decade for the guy that reminds everyone of their little brother.

Ipswich vs West Ham
West Ham are set to say goodbye to several veterans this weekend, and fans hope club legend Michail Antonio, still without a new deal, gets the proper send-off he deserves.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace
The question is: who gives who the guard of honor? Either way, it’s going to be all smiles for Liverpool as they prepare to raise the PL trophy in front of their fans. (This will be the same matchup for the Community Shield game next season).

Manchester United vs Aston Villa
Red-hot Villa need a rare Old Trafford win, and to have Newcastle and Chelsea drop points, to keep their CL dream alive.

Newcastle vs Everton
Newcastle have already ended a 70-year trophy drought, but one more win on Sunday could turn a historic season into a transformative one with CL football.

Southampton vs Arsenal
Arsenal have basically locked up second place unless they have a loss, a City win, and an 8-goal swing. Then again, with their luck this season...

Wolverhampton vs Brentford
Brentford could still clinch their highest-ever Premier League finish with a win.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton
Brighton can still sneak into Europe, but they’ll need a win, a few favors, and Chelsea to lift the Conference League trophy next week to snag an unlikely eighth-place reward.

🥅 No change for Salah in the single-season Goal Contribution (G+A) tracker. He owns the goal contribution record with 46 and could extend it today. But it’s looking doubtful he breaks the assist record.

🏆️ Spurs being “Spursy”

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham delivered a gritty 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final, ending a 17-year trophy drought and backing up the manager’s bold preseason claim that he “always wins in his second year.” The Australian’s 100th match at the helm may end up being one of his last, but it’s now one of the most significant in Spurs’ modern history. Despite a rocky league campaign, Postecoglou’s young side secured a trophy….something that has eluded recent top-level former Spurs managers like Antonio Conte, Nuno Espirito Santo, Jose Mourinho, and Mauricio Pochettino.

For United, the loss marked a new low in what many are calling their worst season in half a century. Ruben Amorim’s side just couldn’t crack Tottenham’s compact defense. Garnacho and Zirkzee added energy late on, but Spurs held on, thanks, in no small party to Micky van de Ven’s insanely acrobatic goal-line clearance.

The victory could be a turning point for Tottenham, both emotionally and financially, with Champions League revenue and belief flowing back into the club. Postecoglou hopes the win helps change how Spurs see themselves. They are no longer a “nearly club” but a team that can finish the job. Meanwhile, United face a summer of soul-searching, missed revenue, and the sobering reality of a season without European football.
