Matchweek 29
United =🔥🔥 and what happened to ARS after the "Invincibles"?
Sniffs air… ahhhh. Smells like midweek football.
With FA Cup action taking over the weekend, we’ve been treated to Premier League fixtures on a Tuesday of all things…absolutely no complaints here.
Also… can we talk about United? When Michael Carrick stepped in, they were listessly lingering in seventh. Fast forward a few months and they’re firmly fixed in third, unbeaten and suddenly looking like a team with that has a winning heritage. United paid £14 million for Carrick back in 2006… 20 years later it looks like they’re going to pay him the big bucks again.
Enjoy

⭕ Aston Villa vs 🦁 Chelsea — 11:30 AM — Peacock
Villa Park hosts two Champions League hopefuls in search of their former selves. Aston Villa have won just two of their last eight league matches and converted a brutal 2 of their last 76 shots at home (2.6%). While Chelsea arrive having lost eight of their last 10 midweek away fixtures and collected seven red cards this season… one of the highest tallies in Premier League history. Villa are chasing their first league double over the Blues since 1989-90… This year looks as good as any for them to get it.
🐧 Brighton vs 🔫 Arsenal — 11:30 AM — USA
🏠 Fulham vs ⚒️ West Ham — 11:30 AM — Peacock
🌙 Man City vs 🌲 Nottingham Forest — 11:30 AM — Peacock
⚫️ Newcastle vs 🟥 Man United — 12:15 PM — USA
The Magpies have lost three straight home league games for the first time since 2021 and have conceded 23 goals at St. James’ Park this season (more than anyone except Wolves and West Ham) while Manchester United arrive with 23 points from Michael Carrick’s first nine Premier League games, a joint-record start for any manager. United lead the division with nine points recovered from losing positions, while losing just one of their last 11 away games after previously winning only one of 11 on the road. Bruno Fernandes’ 13 assists are United’s highest single-season total since 2011-12, and although Newcastle have won their last three home league meetings with United, current form suggests they may be in for a bit of a challenge.
Thursday, March 5
