Matchweek 30
United vs Villa top four battle and what does relegation cost a team?
It was a rough week for Premier league teams in the Champions league but now were back to league play and things are feeling hot hot hot.
We have Arsenal trying to not self sabotage, Spurs/Forest/West Ham trying not get caught out when the music stops, and Chelsea/Liverpool/United/Villa battling in the seemingly never-ending quest for Europe next season.
Did we mention Wolves have won back to back games for the first time all season? βDonβt call it a comeback!β
Good times,
-Gabe

Manchester United return to Old Trafford locked level on points with Aston Villa in the race for Champions League places, and their home form under Michael Carrick has been spot on. Carrick has won all five of his Premier League home games in charge and could become just the fourth manager ever to win his first six. United have also scored in 17 consecutive league matches (their longest scoring run since a 23-game stretch under Alex Ferguson in 2012β13)
Villa arrive looking to complete their first league double over United since 1954-55 after winning the reverse fixture 2-1 in December, but their recent league form has been less than stellar. Unai Emeryβs side have won just three of their last 11 Premier League matches, collecting only 12 points in that span β fewer than all but four teams in the league. The absence of midfielders Youri Tielemans and Boubacar Kamara has been significant. Could this be the moment Villa rights the ship?
π² Nottingham Forest vs π Fulham β 7:00 AM β Peacock
π΄ Liverpool vs π Tottenham β 9:30 AM β Peacock
Tottenham arrive at Anfield in crisis, having lost six straight matches in all competitions (the worst run in the clubβs history) Also they shockingly remain the only Premier League side without a league win in 2026. Their defensive numbers underline the struggles: since the start of last season Spurs have conceded 111 goals and allowed a league-worst 108.0 expected goals against.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have historically dominated this fixture at Anfield, losing just one of their last 31 home league games against Tottenham and going unbeaten in the last 14 meetings there.
To add to Liverpools hope this game could be the motivation Mohamed Salah needs. Salah has scored 16 career goals against Spurs (his joint-most against any opponent) including 12 in the Premier League, a tally only Alan Shearer has bettered against Tottenham.
The matchup itself is famously goal-heavy: Liverpool vs Tottenham is the highest-scoring fixture in Premier League history with 209 total goals, with Liverpool responsible for 127 of them. Itβs the kind of game that you wait till half time for a bathroom break.
