Matchweek 34
Rosenior Out, City and Arsenal are Level, Spurs reaching for a lifeline.
Well hello there Premier League fanatics! With five games left we are closing in on the final act of the season, and oh-me-oh-my are we in for a treat. Itβs almost like this season was scripted. City and Arsenal are tied on points AND GD, they are now only separated by the fact that City has scored more goals on the whole. (we put the official tiebrakers below in case it comes down to it)
Oh and RIP to yet another coach fired this season, as Liam Rosenior was the tenth one to be let go and the SECOND coach released by Chelsea in 2026. I think I speak for all Chelsea fans when I say they need to give the job to John Terry and have him start kicking hair dryers.
We have a short Prem Report today so enjoy the games!

Get ready Spurs fans, their first win of 2026 may be about to happenβ¦.but that wonβt necessarily fix everything. Spurs sit 18th with five games left, and two points below West Ham. Most would agree, they likely need three wins to stay up as 40 pts is almost always guaranteed safety. Saturday's trip to Molineux against already-relegated Wolves is probably their most winnable fixture remaining on the schedule. Wolves were officially sent down last weekend, which means Spurs are traveling to face a side with virtually nothing to play for except honor and self respectβ¦which might actually be enough. Spurs are winless in their last six against Wolves, including a 4-2 demolition at Molineux last April when both clubs were in the bottom five.
The De Zerbi era is still trying to take off, but he may run out of runway. His midfield choices against Brighton (leaning on Bissouma, Gallagher and Bentancur over the younger options) suggested he's going with experience when it matters, which makes sense. Wolves are dead last in goals scored and don't exactly press you into mistakes, so at least the conditions are about as favorable as Spurs are going to get. The brutal reality is this: if Tottenham can't beat a relegated side playing out the string in their first game back after getting officially sent down, the conversation stops being about survival and starts being about which Championship clubs they'll be warming up against in August. No pressure.

Tiebreakers Break Down
In the result that City and Arsenal end the season level on points and goal differential like they are now, here are the other tiebreaking rules that would come in to play.
Goals scored β the team that has scored more goals across the entire season ranks higher, regardless of how many they've conceded
Head-to-head points β most points collected in the two matches between those specific clubs
Away goals in head-to-head β most away goals scored in those two head-to-head matches
Playoff β if still inseparable, and the position matters (title, European spots, or relegation), a one-off match at a neutral ground decides it
We couldnβt find an instance where a playoff match had to happen, but I think we all agree that if it came down to it, we would all love to see them play one last time for the title.
