Premier Report, Matchweek 1

Liverpool is loaded, League Changes, and Prem Report updates.

The Premier League is baaaack and you know what that means… The Prem Report will be hitting inboxes harder than a Travis Kelce/T-Swift Podcast. This year will include more giveaways, more Lord of the Rings quotes, and plenty of Memes. (Oh, and also weekend fixture breakdowns/info).

In this edition

Prem Report 2.0

This season we intend to refine and perfect the Prem Report(PR) to its most optimized format. Much like a newborn foal before it turns into a majestic stallion, bear with us as we find our feet.

Below are some notable changes you will see this season…

  1. The PR will now deliver ONE edition per matchweek, the day before the games kick-off (this was decided due to the foreseen and predictable burnout the editor experienced during the first season of the PR).

  2. Less team logo usage (it’s a legal thing).

  3. Design experimenting (font, colors, format).

  4. More quizzes.

Please feel free to let us know if you like or dislike anything — we love to hear from our readers!

League Changes

Similar to the PR, the League is also undergoing some changes for the 25/26 season.

Here are a few of the biggest…

  1. We will now be able to see if the “C’mon Ref are you blind!?” call-out actually has any teeth or not. The league is going to be trialing a Ref Cam (Circa Nike’s Van Persie Ad from 2008) for the first six weeks of the season, at which point they will evaluate continuing or not.

  2. You know how the saying goes, A ball in hand is worth… a corner?: Keepers get a HARD(ish) eight seconds to hold the ball otherwise it’s a corner for the opposing team. Sorry goalies, the days of affectionately holding the ball for 20 mins a game are over. Refs will alert the keeper when five seconds remain by raising their arm and lowering it incrementally till time is up. No complaints here.

  3. 🎵Hold onnnn to me as you go…🎵annnd you will get a penalty. The refs are being told to give less warnings and crack down on holding in the box.

  4. Double Dutch Touch = Retake. If a player accidentally hits the ball twice on a freekick they have to have a do over. (Example)

Extra Slice

Liverpool wins the transfer season…

It turns out being really really incredibly good looking has it’s benefits… Liverpool just pulled off the transfer season of a lifetime by pulling, not only proven talent in their prime, but also a few young gifted whipper snappers. See below.

With Luiz Diaz, and Darwin Nunez out, Liverpool had a big need to bolster their attack.

Coach Slot’s biggest challenge might just be making sure everyone gets equal playing time, got to keep the parents happy, amirite?

Enjoy the opening weekend for the greatest league in the world!!
