⚽🦅vs🖤 - SAOT Ain't So I Will Not Go... Midweek Match
Match from week 29, The worst team in Man U history and a new technology

Good Morning,
Today we’ve got two bird-branded clubs going head-to-head in what could be a sneaky classic: Magpies vs. Eagles; a Premier League wildlife special.
But beyond the wingspan, this one’s really a clash of royal real estate; Castles vs. Palaces. And let’s be honest, the only player with a name regal enough to sit on a throne is Jean-Philippe Mateta.
If he bags a hat-trick today, just remember: I called it.

Matches

Headline Match: Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace
🖤 Newcastle: Magpies Scavenging for top 3
Newcastle, coming off a convincing 4-1 win against Man U led, has the chance to take 3rd place in the table today with a win. Harvey Barnes was red hot over the weekend as he scored a brace. Manager Eddie Howe is still recovering from pneumonia and looks to be out at least another 2 games.
🦅 Eagles: Tough Final Push
Palace are staring down a brutal run, and it’s already started. They were 2–0 up on City last week… and still lost 5–2. Now it’s Newcastle, Arsenal, Villa, and Forest in four of their next five.Tough stretch? Absolutely. But to quote Stick It: “It’s not called gym-nice-stics.”
Things to Know:
The Geordies are HOT: Newcastle have won their last five matches across all competitions.
Mateta Still Loading: The striker is looking more like himself since receiving an ear laceration 4 weeks ago. He’s only scored once in his last five. If he doesn’t score this weekend he’s sure to get another earful.
So Stingy: Newcastle have the fourth most clean sheets this season (10) and have kept clean sheets in six of their last eight matches against Crystal Palace in the League.
Extra Slice

⚽👶VAR’s new baby bro arrived over the weekend meet SAOT.
The Premier League rolled out semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) this last weekend for the first time.
Using a web of 30+ high-speed cameras, the system tracks every body part that can legally score a goal (sorry, arms) and creates a slick 3D image to judge offsides faster and more accurately. The goal? Fewer VAR delays and way less “armpit offside” chaos.
The final decision still goes through the ref, but with calls coming quicker, cleaner, and with fewer squiggly lines, we might actually spend more time watching football than waiting for it.
